QUALIFYING FOR SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY:

Eligibility rules for Social Security’s disability program differ from those of private plans or other government agencies. To receive disability benefits, a person must meet the definition of disability under the Social Security Act (Act).

Ref. https://www.ssa.gov/disability/professionals/bluebook/general-info.htm

A person is disabled under the Act if they can’t work due to a severe medical condition that has lasted, or is expected to last, at least one year or result in death. The person’s medical condition(s) must prevent them from doing work that they did in the past, and they must be incapable of performing any other type of job due to the functional limitations that they have due to their disability.

It is important to understand that there are many factors that are taken into consideration when determining if a client qualifies for disability.  Our attorney and staff are well-versed in how to develop your case and provide you the best representation possible.
